Sacramental Preparation for Confirmation
Candidates for Confirmation are required to complete successfully, during the year of the expected sacrament reception, at least 30 hours of catechesis through a Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) and/or attendance at a Catholic School in addition to completing the Confirmation preparation sessions. In our program the catechesis is provided in the first part of the PREP year and the Confirmation preparation follows, beginning in late winter. Successful completion of both sessions is required.
Candidates must also have received the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Eucharist.
Notifications of eligibility for Confirmation preparation are sent in the Fall to all youth in 9th through 12th grades who are eligible for the Confirmation Program.
If you have any questions, please contact the parish office at 410-642-6534.
Special Note
A two year preparation period is required by the Diocese of Wilmington. In order to be confirmed by the Bishop of Wilmington, one must register and attend Religious Education for Eighth and Ninth Grade.
