Minutes of the Good Shepherd Parish Liturgy Commi= ttee Meeting
March 2, 2010
Present:Fr. Ja= y McKee, Junior McKee, Ursula Adams, Terri Yackley, Jan = Kuhs, Judi Brubaker, Aida Macata= ngay, Renée LeBrun
The meeting began at 7:0= 0 pm with the reading of the Gospel for Sunday March 7.
The minutes from the Feb= ruary 2, 2010 meeting were approved, with comments by Fr. Jay that the Holy Hour for Vocations went very well.
Parish Mission - The Liturgies have been planned. Anita = Wood will speak at all the Masses the weekend of March 20-21. The Mission will begin Sunday even= ing March 21 within Adoration, continue Monday evening March 22 within Evening Prayer, and conclude on Tuesday evening March 23 within Liturgy of the Eucharist. The theme is ̶= 0;Year of the Priest/Priesthood of All Believers.”
Lent - It was commented that a musician is needed when Deacon Luke presides at Stations of the Cross. Renée stated that she will ask for volunteers to play and/or sing when she is unable to be th= ere.
Holy Week - begins on Palm Sunday with the Solemn Celebration at the 4 pm Mass, then a Simple Blessing at the other Masses. F= r. Jay mentioned that the Chrism Mass is Monday of Holy Week in Dover and is a wonderful experience for anyone who can attend. The wine will be reinstated= at the Mass on Holy Thursday; holy water will be reinstituted at the Easter Vigil. Judi suggested that th= e Confirmandi be asked to be among those to have their = feet washed at the Holy Thursday Mass. The entire schedule for Holy Week was discussed, including the addition of a Spanish Way of the Cross Service on Good Friday.
Goals for this Year - how can we work together to accomplish the= m - Fr. Jay and Ursula will go to each of the churches to assess the conditio= n of all liturgical resources. For= the re-establishment of the Good Shepherd Guild, a report will be run in PDS to determine who has expressed an interest.&n= bsp; A bulletin ad will be run for several weeks, as well as pulpit announcements made. Fr. Jay suggested that once re-established the Guild could see to cleaning the Reconciliation Room, replacing the curtains, cleaning the windows in the church, etc.
It was suggested that the Confirmation Class be asked to do the cleaning at GSC for Easter. Ursula suggested announcing at all Masses that volunteers are needed to clean GSC = on March 28. Aida offered to pre= pare lunches for the workers.
Other Business
&= nbsp; * &= nbsp; During May the Rosary will be recited before each Mass; it will be announced in Ap= ril that volunteers are needed to lead the recitation of the Rosary.
&= nbsp; * &= nbsp; Mother’s Day novena cards will be placed in the churches on Easter Sunday and bullet= in ads and pulpit announcements will be made from Palm Sunday through the mont= h of April.
&= nbsp; * &= nbsp; After Mother’s Day, Father’s Day novena cards will be placed in the churches and announcements made through the rest of the month of May and up until Father’s Day in June.
&= nbsp; * &= nbsp; First Eucharist is scheduled for May 1 at St. Agnes at 10 am and at Good Shepherd= at 1 pm.
&= nbsp; * &= nbsp; May Procession will be during the 11 am Mass on Mother’s Day (May 9), starting with the Procession at the school.
= * &= nbsp; Ascension Sunday is May 16 and Pentecost is May 23.

Since Confirmation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 4, 2010, the next
meeting of the Liturgy Committee will be on Thursday,
