Present – Jack Scarbath, Bud McFadden, Jan Kuhns, Clifford Lowe, Sharon Hodges, Deacon Luke Yackley, Tom Long, Jerry Calloway= , Prosper Boudart, & Bill Paré

 

Deacon Luke opened the meeting with a prayer.

 

The minutes of the May meeting were approved.

 

Old Business

ST. AGNES – T= he P.A. system does not work properly.  Also, there are a few AC outlets in the basement that do not work.  Will consider contacting Larry Coa= le to see if he can address these problems. 

Bud has contacted Neil Eller, R.S. American Legion, regarding fixing the church parking lot (which is used extensively by the Little League during baseball season).&nbs= p; The possibility of having a fund-raiser for this project was discuss= ed.

Tom Long mentioned that it would be useful to build a = portable table to abut the kitchen sink.  This would be useful when meals are served.

 

ST. TERESA – Waiting for some good weather to do= some painting at various parts of the church building.

 

GOOD SHEPHERD CHURCH – Replaced framing around crawl-space access door.

Completed mulching around hedges & shrubs around t= he church building.

Suggested that the stairs to the meeting room be fixed= .  These represent a potential safety issue.

 

GOOD= SHEPHERD SCHOOL – Roof leaks have been repaired.

One AC unit is leaking; another is not working.

The freezer was repaired, but broke down again. Possib= ility of a donated used unit.

The refrigerator was repaired.

Installed access doors for area under the stage.

Tree limbs were removed from the power lines.

There was discussion on the Strawberry Festival –= ; 1 day vs. 2 days

 

PARI= SH OFFICE BUILDING – Recent storms flooded the basement; high ground water the culprit.<= /p>

Storage in the basement – need to address this problem.  Luke suggested movin= g useful materials to the 2nd floor.&nbs= p; Fr. McKee to determine “keep’ vs. “junk” status.  Summer help to assist= with this project.

 

RECTORY – Nothing to report.

 

RENTAL UNIT – Have identified a new rental agent= , who is responsibly for advertising cost.  Bud suggested placing a sign in front of the property.

Needs a new roof.&nbs= p; Cost approx. $1,050 to tear off old roof.  Suggested cost of job (materials + labor) is $2,250.  There was considerable discussion on this item.

 

VACANT  U= NIT – There was much discussion of arriving at some agreement between the American Legion, the Little League, the Historical Society of Rising Sun and Doug Clarke regarding the disposition of the property.  The only item on which everyone ag= reed on was that reaching this “agreement” would take considerable t= ime.

 

New Business – none.
